is possible to browse and play files in the player instead of using the music lybrary with album/artist/songs?

No, unfortunately it is not possible, you have to use the library and make sure your songs are correctly tagged.

I can't find the player that I'm looking for... It doesn't exist.

You could try an android device, they have the ability to browse their folders, ie: I have an Archos 43, and it can do want you want.

Cowon, Sandisk, Sony, Samsung, Archos, any Rockboxed player, etc... they all have folder browsing.

and trascend too, off course. But maybe the sounds quality is not always flawless

I was looking for a player with this features:

max 3''
16 GB at least (or 8GB expandible)
MSC for file transfer
folder browsing
high audio quality
standarb usb connector
last but not so important: rapid way to navigate files

The x-fi2 was perfect, but folder browsing for me is truly important.

Now I'm thinking about CLIP+ with a microSD...

I need expandability if the memory is under 16GB

There is an 8gb, and a 16gb model, it includes an expansion slot for a micro sd, allowing for up to 32gb micro sd card ( I believe), also you can use a flash drive as storage for it ( With a usb host cable).

They all sound basically the same, as far as the hardware and flat output is concerned. There really is no noticeable difference between quality audio players. Only thing is their sound enhancements and EQs that make a difference. With Cowon and Rockbox being among the best, and Creative being among the worst sounding.

sansa clip+ 8gb (even rockboxed) with 16 sd or cowon iA7 ( I read that sounds quality is better than i9) ? :-/

after hours of searching I arrived to this result, too (I hope this phrase mean what I want to say, my english is poor, sorry ...)

The Clip+ is my favorite player for on-the-go as well, I don't think it's weird sticking with what works best for one's needs - instead of searching for the next best current thing.

You're right. The only thing that clip has less TODAY than other player is the battery.

now I can switch to the CLIP room.
