One site says it only comes in 4 or 8gb, that kills it for me instantly. Looked cool though, never tried an iRiver player.

wtf? I think this is actually a downgrade of their previous products. iriver was a good company, rip.

Oh boy. Snooze and the Yawnettes. Releases like that really give fuel to the sensationalist press that predicts that the MP3 player is a dying breed (and giving way to the smartphone, or something along these lines). Tough luck for you, Iriver.

Its not surprising that they've pulled out of the international game. There's no point to selling these outside of Korea if they're going to put in such a poor effort.

Hmm, why all the negativity?
If you want FLAC and AAC in the one package then there's only half a dozen players out there. Throw in an SD card slot, kick out anything over $200 and you're left with iriver versus... well it's iriver vs... Creative? From the video it looks like DMB/DAB is included, which could be fun to play with in some countries. What's missing, which would impress all ye naysayers? |

For example, the D2 has a SDHC card slot, J3 has a microSDHC slot, and they plays more formats than you can shake a stick at, blessed with incredibly long battery life, excellent sound quality and the best EQ in the industry...? |

It's been all downhill for iRiver since the release of the Clix2 imo.

Does ABIP have any plans to review this product? I'm really interested in the DAB functionality, BBC 5 Live and Talk Sport! Please reply. Thank You.

I highly doubt that anyone here on ABI will review this, especially since this thread is a few months old at this point.

S100 looks lame compared with the Archos 28 or 32 Android tablet which has all those codecs, plus wifi and all the Android stuff. Lack of expansion kills all of those though, unless you're going to depend on the wifi for video sources.
I don't understand the desire for tiny PMP's. Who wants to watch video on such a thing? We need a good audio-only player and the only one being made now is the Sansa Clip+. I can't believe there is no replacement for the Cowon G3 or Sansa M200 after all these years. |

i'm still trying to figure things out on it but to me its comparable to a fuze, but that's only assumption on my part since i've never owned an original fuze. so i can't say if its up to par to it. it is though, A LOT better than the e150 model. the buttons are way more responsive then that piece of shit. i didn't get the DAB version since i'm in toronto, so i can't really tell you anything on that.

I've had this for a month now, and I'm loving it. IMO the SQ is better than Sansa's Fuze. The DAB is also exceptional, much better than the D2's flakey DAB. I don't really use it for video, so couldn't comment on that. If you want an MP3 player with a future proof DAB+ tuner and Micro SD card slot, this really is your only option just now. It also has bookmarking for MP3 playback. More mp3 player makers really should include DAB, IMO for DAB iRiver > Cowon just now.
