MicroSD card and Fuze Question

This is just something thats been bothering me for abit and I can't figure it out.I have a class two 16GB MicroSD card which I use with my Fuze all the time.The internal memory remembers when data has been modified or created using windows explorer.But for the microSD card,it just says the exact date that I loaded the entire card up which was a month ago.This doesn't help much when I want to figure out which new album I dragged onto the card the last time I copied new music to it.

Are you saying that when you drag files onto the card that the file dates aren't the same as they were on your Windows system? They're being changed?

Ok I'll try to clarify.I mean that all the dates on the microSD card says 3/27/11,which was a month ago for all of the files on it.But if I change or move around some of the files in those folders,the date won't update itself of when they were modified.But if I make a new folder on the card then it will show a new date.

Moving files doesn't change their date modified. Editing them should, but it's up to the software doing the editing, which may retain the old date. Mp3tag, for instance, has an option to preserve file modification times when saving changes.

I just tested it with my Fuze, modifying tags on some files on the microSDHC card, and the files dates were changed. Note that the _folder_ date is not changed when files within the folder have their date changed.
