Yeh. i'm torn between ipod nano 6th gen and this. On the one hand i have a apt-x dongle that fits the ipod nano and i could experience apt-x bluetooth using the ipod nano (to my D5 and S2 Creative speakers). But the ipod nano 16gb costs $180AUD!
I could buy the M300 4gb, whack a 16gb card into it (that I already own) and pay $80AUD, but then i'm worried the sound quality won't be as good (and I'm specifically looking at this player for its bluetooth functionality).

For real listening i'll always use my RB clip+.

Right. . . well, creatives are quite enjoyable IMO. I liked them better than ipods in the past. It's hella-ugly tho.

Just reading a quick review confirming my fears, says SD card is NOT intergrated to main library. FAIL!
Because of this I would just bypass the 8 and 16gb models and buy the 4gb and throw in a 16 or 32gb card.

"You can play your songs directly from your Micro SD card but its not integrated with your music library."

Looking at this review (http://www.mycreativefansite.com/), in the table chart it says 'Bluetooth Streaming Technology' and says 'SBC (Sub band Coding)'. Anyone know anything about this? Is this the same as APT-X or as good?

I supply this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apt-X

It says;

"In addition, apt-X codec can displace Sub-Band Codec (SBC), the sub-band coding scheme for high-quality stereo/mono audio streaming mandated by the Bluetooth SIG for the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) of Bluetooth, the short-range wireless personal-area network standard."

But I don't really understand what this means.

Avoid this player at all costs, I had the M100 and it was truly, shockingly bad quality.

It's sad because on paper, or in pictures online, these players look good. another bad thing I didn't mention was the display - it was poor and the track information was always in white on top of the album art so that half the time it was unreadable depending on the colour of the album art. It was also nearly impossible at a glance to see what mode of shuffle was employed, or the Eq setting - the screen was that poor, I had to press the context button a lot to find anything out, but again there was that maddening delay in both the screen visuals and the sound would stutter too.

Has anyone played with the ipod nano 6th gen? I have had a chance to tinker with it in the shops, I have to say I'm quite impressed. But as always it IS expensive like all apple products.
I would like to hear how it sounds say compared to sansa clip+ etc.

Don't think Apple are worth the money. I'm liking my shuffle a lot more after a week with it, but looking around the Clip+ does so much more and is much bigger capacity - and expandable for around the same price.

for the price that the Nano costs you could buy a Cowon or a Sony. edit: I see your in Australia, not sure about prices there.
