Unfortantly not yet, we just posted the warning so we didnt forget

There might be a ........large delay in release, we are next to done (barely anything left to do) but we ran into a serious problem: texture, we need to texture over spots that have been edited, but cant always redraw that area, so we must check pixel for pixel which is quite slow.

The level editor is the actual Pingus game ( for pc), download it and run and the level editor will be at the menu, then you use our level generator to convert it, and then you can play it.

I have updated the video in the first post of our current progress. Most of the engine is done, all that is left is the builder, some optimizations, custom levels, and bugs here and there ( very few)

I like how you've changed your avatars to SuperTux icon.
That was the first game I played in Linux, I believe... Good ol'days.

Unfortanly no not yet, and it seems like it will never be ( or just quite laggy) unless creative actually gives us a proper answer to our inquires on certain api and modules. Basically they just tell us to go away by forwarding us to someone else and never responding for over months, or just telling us , we will not ask our development team, we highly doubt they would answer. Seriously, how can you include something into the api and yet decline to give out information on it. After all the whole point of the api is to help development. Even though this is the one api that means us finishing our game our not. There most recent response basically said: oh were "sorry" but this information is beyond the basic scope of the player so we decline in even asking anyone about it, we are just going to tell you to leave us alone.

This leaves us with 4 options:

1. Only release the game for the adk
2. Release the game for the player but have a major lag
3. Manually extract their lua player and the modules
4. Stop the project completely

That sux. They are probably concentrating their resources on new products development and stopped supporting lua api since competition. There is no lua on newer players . So i presume that, there weren't considerable sales because of this capability of X-Fi2.

We have managed to speed up our hill engine around 4x (this is based off of old timings we took), at the cost of twice the loading time. So we can now handle more then 5 penguins

If we do not find the functions we need to allow textures then we will use solid colors, remove most of the lag, minimizing for loops if not removing them and eliminating many math calculations. ( We tested this and we doubled the max number of penguins, so now 12 is the limit instead of 5 )

The beta should be released withing a couple of days ( some unseen problems have come, but none to serious). Also make sure you have at LEAST 242 MB avaible on your zen, because currently that is how big Pingus X-Fi2 is.

We are adding music support to Pingus, and so far it is going fairly well. It seems like making Wavecrave was not a waste after all , However, it has yet again become impossible to debug on the player ( pingus is causing data corruption, random crashing ect, however this is because of my player and my player alone. We are just maxing out the player so much that my player's faulty hardware cant handle it)

When i debug Hypogeum, it sometimes crashes too, usually while loading large portion of data like textures. It happens more often when i am listening to music. It maybe problem with small ram or processor speed. When i add sleep() or wait() between each load of resource (it can be really small time portion like 50ms) crashes arent so often. It helpes a lot.

Thanks, we may intergrate this into our loading functions, however my player has always seemed to randomly crash ( ie: playing skifree will crash quite often), so my player is the cause of the crash most of the time). I did try the os.wait(50) but it only delayed the crash.

After heavily modding the loading, we have gotten music to load ( we have eliminated at least 2.5mb of unneeded resources/ converting them )
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Music will not be available in beta, seeing how much time it is taking to complete, we just need to fix up the miner, add a couple of entries to the generator and then make the levels, and the beta will be released.

We somehow managed to cause a large lag starting at 3 penguins, we have no idea where this lag is coming from, we have isolated everything, optimized and the lag still persists.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The lag is at the core of the engine, it is from us reading large strings from our collision map, we have a three point theory that should remove this lag. The three point theory is that we only check 3 points for falling/hills and it should server as a fairly accurate collision system while being fast.
