Default Where are these things??
I have been looking for a samsung galaxy player to replace my ipod touch 2g but they don't seem to exist anywhere in the us that I have seen online. I last heard about them in February but then nothing since then. Can anyone shed light on this situation? IF I can't find a decent android mp3 player with a capasative screen at a reasonable price I hate to say it but I may have to buy an ipod touch 4th gen. I can't really put up with the 2g with dying battery, no multitasking and increasingly laggy games

They just showed up on the Samsung US website some days ago. Be patient and you'll find them in stores soon

J&R Music World will have the Galaxy Player 4.0 & 5.0 in stock soon, so be patient. I also want 1 myself, the 5.0 TBH.

J&R's listings for the device disappeared shortly after being posted.

As of this morning, Best Buy has finally added the Samsung YP-G1CW to their catalog, although it is listed as "Coming Soon."

Both are larger than a P3, but should be decent media players. Android means you'll also be able to do much more with it as well.

Oh yeah,...Android w/real multimedia playback capabilities (read me - GREAT SOUND QUALITY!!!),...why can't I get a phone that can do this,...WHY?!?!?!

The specs flaunt the screen of the 4" model, but don't even mention the resolution of the 5" model. I vaguely remember something about how the 4" was getting the better screen technology.

Both 4.0 and 5.0 seem to be up on Bestbuy.com looks like 229.99 for the 4.0 and 269.99 on the 5.0 incher...

Amazon's entry for the YP-G1CW has vanished.

As of yet, however, my preorder hasn't been dropped by the company. I don't know if they have a tendency to let these expire naturally, or they'll actively cut it, but here's to hoping its a sign of potential fulfillment of the order.
