Count me in as one who experienced the corruption after trying a build with that USB patch.

How can I simply add the key map changes shown in post #1 to my build of Rockbox? I don't want to install this build just to get these changes.

I didn't bother to post a patch because the changes are pretty self explanatory...
I don't have a build environment setup atm, but I'll post a patch when I do. I'm not sure when I'll get around to it, so you might want to try doing it yourself. Btw, I'm not sure if you have a build environment setup or not, but you will need one to change the keymap. Also, the only patches that cannot be disabled are: FS#_____: Removed '<Random>' from database browser, FS#12132 and FS#11304. Does one of these patches change something you don't like? |

Here is the keymap patch I made for my own build:
http://pastebin.com/s7Ab9F6Z This simply swaps the behaviour of "long home" and "home+power" combinations, so that "long home" now returns to WPS and "home+power" accesses the quickscreen. Hope that helps. |

@G4Oblivion thank you very much. I installed your "version" and it works smoothly, I tested the effects on buttons but I'm kinda a noob to push the test on audio patchs.

Status update:
I've set up a build environment again, but I don't plan on releasing a build until a workaround/fix is committed for the dircache crashes. [EDIT]: I'm probably just going to use the 3.9 branch. I should have a build up within the next 2 days if I don't run into any issues. When I release the update I will also be releasing my keymap patch and my patch that removes random (I'm not too confident in it, since its just a revert of r15957, but it works.) Since there's talk about flyspray being removed, I will be including all patches used in the build, too. Its likely that the next build will be my last or one of my last. Build Update: r30129M-110707 (07/07/2011)
Build is based off of Rockbox 3.9 stable branch Download: [CLIP+][r30129M-110707]G4Oblivion.zip Patches Added: • FS#10849: Dedicated sleep timer menu with persistent duration and "on power up" option Patch Pack !: PatchPackV1.tar The patch pack includes all patches used in my build. Keymap Changes: • Quickscreen is now short-power in both tree and WPS Puts the 'quick' in quickscreen. I changed this because home+power was a little hard to do for ->quick<-screen. I like this solution and think its an improvement over home+power. I can use my index finger to turn it on and off and navigate quickscreen using my thumb. Known Issues: • Playback is not stopped before shutting down if shutdown from quickscreen. I've no plans of attempting to fix this since its not a big issue and doesn't cause any 'real' problems. This is my last planned build release. Last edited by G4Oblivion; 10-29-2011 at 05:20 PM. |

Great work G4Oblivion, thanks for your builds, currently listening to my Clip+ with your latest build installed. Just thought about doing a build myself 'cause I wanted to try the Meyer crossfeed with the Clip+ and voila there was your build with other cool extras as well.
Much appreciated.

Build Update: r30134M-110709 (07/09/2011)
Build is based off of Rockbox 3.9 stable branch Download: [CLIP+][r30134M-110709]G4Oblivion.zip Known Issues: • Playback is not stopped before shutting down if shutdown from quickscreen. I've no plans of attempting to fix this since its not a big issue and doesn't cause any 'real' problems. I used the wrong stable branch (tags/v3_9 instead of branch/v3_9) This means backports (up to r30129) weren't included. There is no need to update if you already installed the last build unless you want one of the backported fixes/language updates. I also switched back to Ubuntu 10.10 (the last build was built on 10.04) I tested Ubuntu 11.04 awhile back and it messed up my wireless card, only Windows and Ubuntu 10.04 somewhat worked after that. I've since fixed that and am back using 10.10. Ubuntu is becoming way too unstable. Messing up my hardware >.> Thanks for everyone's support. I'm glad this build could be of use to other people

Pre-Release: r30835M-111026 (10/25/2011)
Build is based off of Rockbox 3.9 stable branch Download: [CLIP+][r30835M-111026]G4Oblivion.zip Bootloader: clppa.bin Patches Added • FS#12132 #008 Patches Removed: • FS#_____: Removed '<Random>' from database browser Patches Updated: • FS#10849 Patch Pack: Patch Pack will be out for the official release. Known Issues: • Playback is not stopped before shutting down, if shutdown from the quickscreen. Changes: Added a separate download link for the bootloader. The bootloader was built using vanilla v3.9 source. Added patch #008 from FS#12132. This patch reduces bin size and stack usage. FS#_____: "Removed '<Random>' from database browser," has been removed because I did not like the way it was done and it conflicts with one of the backported fixes. Updated FS#10849 (sleep timer) to the August 26th version. Last, but not least, I've updated to the latest SVN v3.9 stable branch(r30835) for the backported fixes. Build Update: r30857M-111029 (10/30/2011)
Build is based off of Rockbox v3.9 stable branch Download: [CLIP+][r30857M-111029]G4Oblivion.zip Bootloader: clppa.bin Patches Added: • FS#12132 #008 • Backported r30116, r30571, r30579 and r30743 Patches Removed: • FS#_____: Removed '<Random>' from database browser Patches Updated: • FS#10849 Patch Pack: PatchPackV2.tar Known Issues: • Playback is not stopped before shutting down, if shutdown from the quickscreen. HAPPY HALOWEEN! Release Notes: • Added a separate download link for the bootloader. The bootloader was compiled using vanilla v3.9 source. • Added FS#12132 #008. This patch reduces bin size and stack usage. • Backported r30116, r30571, r30579 and r30743. Please see this thread for details: Rockbox Forums. r30116 Does not provide any functional change nor is it related to the forum post. • Removed "FS#_____: Removed '<Random>' from database browser" I did not like the way this was done and it conflicts with one of the backported fixes. • Updated FS#10849 to the August 26th version. • Simplified the download. It now only contains the .rockbox folder and the bootloader to prevent any confusion.

Please add new bookmarking option:
FS#11473 — New bookmarking option: one per track/playlist It create one bookmark file for one track/playlist and update this entry every time you stop playing file so you don't have a mess in bookmarks section. Very usefull when you listen a lot of audiobooks (only one "updateable" entry per playlist(directory)). Found in this custom build and it work great. |

I'll see if I can add it if I get some free time, though the v3.9 branch is getting out-dated.

Nice build, thanks.
![]() I had one minor problem though, and I'm not sure if it's related to one of these patches or if it is a general problem: with ReplayGain enabled (default), one specific song pops at a specific time, as if the file were corrupt. Disabling ReplayGain stopped it...

@kepinskidar:
I applied the patch, but there was some fuzz. If you can, please test this and see if FS#11473 works as expected. Download: Removed link If all is good, then I'll start preparing for a build update. EDIT: I'm going to start re-syncing the patches before I release a new build update. It's currently a PITA to apply the patches. @vittau Quote:
If none of the patches are enabled and you only experience it in my build, then its probably caused by either FS#11304 or the backports. It sounds like it may just be a bad audio file, though. I'm a complete novice when it comes to analyzing audio files, so I can't be of much help. If the audio file is in mp3 format, I suggest trying mp3val (create a backup up of the audio file first). mp3val portable (just install it to your desktop or wherever you want and start "mp3valportable.exe") If you have foobar2000, you can also try right clicking the file in foobar and selecting "Utilities -> Rebuild mp3 stream" See if the popping noise is still there after repairing with mp3val and rebuilding the stream with foobar.

Hi
I tested FS#11473 and it works as should. Thanks a lot. First I can't find how I can stop playing my playlist (first time use your build) but now I know. Long press on power button, and rockbox create only one bookmark and update this one entry everytime I stop playing my playlist. Works great. Thanks again. p.s. Sorry for my english... know it mostly from rpg games ;p |

Lol, your English is fine. Thanks for testing.
I should have a new build update either later today or tomorrow.
