Default Zune 120 failure to boot up, Error message "Contact Support 5"

My zune 120 (approx 2 years old) switched off while using it recently, now when I try to turn it on it has the Zune logo screen then goes to an error screen with the phrase "Contact Support" in the middle of the screen and a "5" in the top left hand corner of the screen.

I have done a soft reboot (Up and Back), and it just rebooted to the error 5 screen again. So tried reboot then holding down Back Centre and Play, Zune then came up with screen 1 promting me to connect to PC, after I did that screen 2 came up prompting me to open zune software to "Restore the Zune device firmware"
After doing this the Zune software said the player was in "Device recovery mode" and I was prompted to Update the Zune to 3.30 firmware. I then get update error C00D124F "Can't sync because there isn't enough space on your device. Delete some items and try again."

Is this a terminal issue or can it be fixed?

DOA hdd, either send it in to MS for assistance, or replace the hdd yourself and solve the issue. I'd replace the hdd myself:

Thats what I figured looks like I'll be using my phone for my music needs for the time being!
