I'm about to plug a Cowon to a Mac. Is it dangerous?

So I've read these stories about cowon devices bricking because of bad compatibility with mac computers. How true is this? Are those just obsolete warnings? Have the interoperability problems been solved with model/firmware updates? What precautions should I take?

Cuz I just bought a C2 (my first cowon!) and I would ideally use it with my iMac at home... but I'm kinda scared from what I read, lol.

Here in the UK, one of the main Cowon dealers, Advanced MP3 Players, displays a warning on all their Cowon product pages that these products are not compatible with Macs. I wouldn't risk it.

There's been bricking who knows if it's proven to come from that but i'd pass.

Started using the C2 with my mac anyways.
No problems.

I followed some advice from these threads:
Managing Mac issues by jet_silver
Tool for deleting ._ files in Mac OSX computers by sassafras

Loaded songs and video files, ejected with "Crumb Free Eject" (the tool sassafras recommends) and the player had no issues updating the database, initializing, and playing stuff. No broken characters on my song names. Everything runs smoothly!

I kept the original FAT32 format (I had read elsewhere about mac users formatting cowon devices in Mac OS Extended, but I was too scared to try this).

The only thing I'll have to sort out is that half of my cover artwork didn't load. No biggie there. Mediamonkey anyone?
