Default Zen Vision M 60gb Charging

Hi,

I have a "new to me" Zen Vision M 60gb player. It charges with the mains charger, and shows the charging "flash" symbol. It docks to a USB port, and shows the charging "flash".

However, it won't charge on my car charger, which has a 5V 2.4Amp output, which is the same output as the mains charger.

Can anybody advise please?

Thanks,

Shep.

If the other chargers work does the car charger work? Have you tested it to be sure that is working by using it to charge another device? Sure it's not an iPod charger. DO NOT EVER use one of those it WILL DAMAGE YOUR PLAYER.

Hey Coachop94, Thanks for the reply. I'm in the UK. I ordered one of these, and it works! :-)

Well Coachop94, I've just ordered the one you suggested. The guy's international shipping rates are very reasonable.

The one I ordered earlier, http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ilpage_o01_s00
was charging, but seems to cause the player to crash / lock up (twice 'cos i re-tried it!). The player locked up, and took over an hour to respond after trying the reset button. Therefore, I shan't be trying in again!!

If I may ask another question, do you, or anybody know, where to download the software that would normally be on the Zen M CD? I downloaded versions from Creative's support site, but get a message at installing saying "this product is not compatible with your version of Windows! I'm currently using Windows Vista. Any thoughts please?

Thanks,

Shep65

Is it 32 or 64 bit version? It does matter.

The Vision M will be in the archived column. When you get to your players page scroll to bottom of page on the left is manual selection choose your OS. http://support.creative.com/Products...e=MP3+Players# BTW Windows Media Player can be used. You don't have to use Creative's software to sync to the player. I in fact do not use it. Too much to install & complicated.

Yup, one big advantage with creative, just drag and drop files. Far less fuss than iTunes!

Hi, again,

Do you know why my Zen M Vision won't charge from this charger (even using the dongle), but will charge from a laptop USB port. It's the same output power as the mains charger?

Thanks again,

It does not charge because you have use the center port on the dongle to charge. That is why I suggested the car charger I posted. The charging thru USB is only activated via pc to help with data transfer. The older ZEN players (Zen Xtra) needed to be charged thru a separate port so if you were transfering files to the player without a power source connected you could drain your battery. The first one you had ordered is exactly the type I would stay away from.
