They better not be stupid and actually add a M2 card slot for their crappy proprietary memory cards this time lol

Yeah, yeah, nice little device, but what about those two tablets they announced months ago? The S1 and S2 had some decent looking designs and specs, andI loved the idea of the folding S2 model.
Where's the S2, Sony? |

dumb question ( as i do not have an android phone yet),
If it runs android, does that mean that something like Power Amp could allow this device to play FLAC files and gapless? Sony lost me when they went away from gapless. Still use my HD5 |

But the HD5 is only gapless with Atrac3. That's too bad if you use MP3. I like to keep my portable music in a format that all my DAP:s can play and then only MP3 works (besides perhaps WMA). Anyway, bought a second hand HD5 off Ebay a few months ago. Wanted to try it out. Surprisingly small for a 20GB HHD player and it sounds quite good once you remove the volume cap.

DLNA support should work with any brand of Smart TV. This PMP should be able to "throw" video to my LG with no trouble. I can already send video to it from most of my android devices with the iMediashare app or an app they came with. Not quite a throw, but the same end result.

As good as it looks I do hope Sony finally did 1 thing that 99% of all android phones lack, and that's keep their eq and sound enhancements on board. That would really make this, IMO, the device to beat.

Thing is, Sony Ericsson cell phones don't come with many supported codecs like samsung devices so perhaps FLAC will not be supported, let alone divx/xvid (which samsung supports). There are flac players on the market https://market.android.com/details?i...=search_result and this can play gapless as well, but it is not free, just trial. As for the tablets, they are nice but are overpriced compared to the competition seeing as the galaxy tabs from sammie have better codec support and design. Btw I think Sony might be waiting for ice cream sandwich before releasing these players on the makrket, so octoberish or novemberish timeline.
