@steinburger1109,

Nah the dongle specifically made for apple products MADE by creative. yeh go figure.
Look here:

The speaker and dongle made by creative fit the apple range.

Creative take alot of flak in this forum, but thats acceptable flank when it comes to their line of mp3 players which do fall short of the mark on a number of fronts. But Creative dont just make mp3 players tho. They do speakers and all other matter of things.
I own the aforementioned Apt-X dongle as well as two of their speakers (which i intend to review in the future) and can say they perform very well, and of course work well with the ipad2 i have.

I simply mean to say, that having the apt-x bluetooth tech built into the xfi3 internally as opposed to fitting their adapter onto it, means its a pain with the pairing and re-pairing process (should u own an apple product with one of their dongles). I would have thought it wiser for creative to release ALL their players so that they could simply take the dongle THEY MAKE making any of their players have apt-x bluetooth (and not just the apple range).

Ok thanks for the clarification. But no one really can blame them for making products for Apple's line. It was when you said "Even tho that dongle is made by creative for creative's line of products" that threw me off.
