Album art - any suggestions

Hi,

I recently bought the iAudio X7, I owned an iPod classic before. I used to see album art for each album, but now it's hit-and-miss.

I did the following things:
-put a cover.jpg file in each album directory
-I made sure the album art was tagged as 'front cover' type

I have got songs that seem to share all properties with each other (ID3v2.3 tag, album art in ID3 tag and in source folder, sometimes one image per tag, sometimes multiple) but for some reason some images are shown and some aren't.

It also doesn't seem to depend on the file size of the image. I have images of 12kB and 230kB that are shown, and images of 24kB that aren't. I have tried both copying the files via Explorer and using Mediamonkey.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried embedding the artwork in the mp3 file (through mp3tag or other software) rather than having a separate jpg file? The portability and display of artwork on my X7 hasn't been a problem since I started doing this.
