Advantages of rooting?

So, I was just wondering what the main advantages of rooting one of these would be? I know you can overclock, but when would you actually need to?Would rooting remove the touchwiz ui? Is rooting undoable, or pernament? Also, what is the best, safest way? this is my first android device, but I did have a hacked psp so Im not totaly ignorant about these things.

As of now, the main advantage for me for rooting this device is for the application "Adfree". Well as the title says, it will remove all annoying ads in your browser and free games/ application from android market..

But If, Custom Roms are to be created for this device then I think rooting is neccessary..

Thanks for your input, so what method did you use? Can it be undone easily? Do I need to back something up first? I cant seem to find a universal method of rooting phones.

use superoneclick with this you can root and unroot easily

Check, check, is this thing on?
So does rooting get rid of the touchwiz ui or can you keep the ui?
When you unroot, does the touchwiz ui return or is it gone forever?
Also would rooting improve app compatibility? The reason I haven't tried yet is I haven't gotten mine yet. Any answer is appreciated!

I don't see why rooting would remove the touchwiz launcher.

THANK YOU! But for you that have rooted it with superoneclick, was it running
gingerbread 2.3.5? From what I've read, superoneclick can't do gingerbread!
Was there any special steps you did or is it as simple as downloading superoneclick, and hitting root when your device is connected?

If android 2.3.5 didin't patch the gingerbreak exploit it should be running
