Hey, long time no post (probably around six months or so...)!
I just thought with all of the "HELP MY P3 IS DEAD!" threads I should start up a thread that is dedicated to those who have surviving P3s. I will update the list of people who have their P3s functioning without too much hassle (even a gimpy P3 is an "alive" P3) regularly. Please state: Your username Date you bought/received P3 Condition (fully functioning, some dead spots but overall fine, barely "alive", etc) Heck, even if your P3 has died and been sent to the great recycling bin in the sky, just tell in what way your P3 died. It'll be fun. ![]() __________ Crimson Raven: 5/10/09, Extremely minor scratch, fully working condition Carsten: 6/11/09, Fully working condition The One: 12/24/09, Minor dings, fully working condition MaxO: 6/??/09, Fully working condition Blankety Blank: 7/31/09, Fully working condition Electron: 8/??/09, Replaced screen, battery giving, working condition YPP3Fanatic: 1/??/09, Few scratches, fully working condition Yazad: 12/23/09, Fully working condition Lyunmet: 7/??/09, Near-dead condition Archy4444: 1/??/10, Fully working condition Vegetaleb: ??/??/09, Minor scratches, needs calibration, working condition Pgh1969pa: 10/??/09, Fully working condition Homework: 10/5/09, Near-dead condition Strontium Wizzard: 5/23/09, Backlight dead, working condition DragonBottles: 10/1/09, Sent in once for repair, working condition Tomcat39: 3/??/09, Fully working condition Trunkin: 10/23/10, Fully working condition Rangel28: 8/27/09, Fully working condition RaduSpeedy: 3/16/09, Fully working condition Jothie: 6/??/09, Starting to die, working condition Elnio: 4/18/10, Fully working condition Mr_Hym: 2/27/10, Fully working condition Shqiponja_Hayabusa: ??/??/10, Fully working condition Rrr666: 1/??/10, Fully working condition BramDB: 12/25/10, Fully working condition

Hello
The One : 24/12/09, some minor dints on the back of the player, Would like to take it apart and smooth out the dints... Apart from that the player is in excellent working condition with no faulty dead touch screen or broken headphone jack. Has been used everyday since it arrived.

Mine is the oldest so far then...
I've had mine since the start of June 2009 so it's about 18 months old and I've never had a problem with it. I've used it almost every day since I got it. It's my companion for my daily commute on the bus (about 40 minutes each way), I used it until fairly recently as a portable music collection to plug into the car stereo (until we got a new car), I've taken it on holiday both last year and this year and I also plug it into portable speakers to use in the garden etc. I watch at least 4 hours of video each week, listen to the radio and and use it all the time for albums. Currently if I'm just watching videos then the battery will usually go flat after about 80 to 95 minutes. I have the brightness always at full and the volume's usually around 18 or 19. Since December last year I've kept it in a leather case (a cheap one from ebay although it's specifically designed for the P3). The only thing I don't use it at all for is games. Perhaps it's all the tapping on the screen for games that reduces it's lifespan? Last edited by MaxO; 12-18-2010 at 08:57 AM. |

I've had mine since August of 09.
the touch screen has been replaced, and the battery is starting to go. I still love it (!), but I'm gonna replace it sometimes in 2011

Received my P3 around the second week of July 2009. Touch screen is almost all dead. Only the 1t column of icons work so I can only access my music using the file browser which is inconvenient.

Touch sensitive screen seemed to die of static
,Oh well, brilliant sound quality, poor interface hardware. If the touch hadn't died, I'll still be playing music from the P3 through a Class B/A-B TO3-Transistor amplifier then into a DIY 14'X28' PA speaker (decent MP3/Amp/Speaker combo). I wondered when someone would set up this title of thread. |

Got mine since January this year, working perfectly, keeping it in a leather case. I use it every day, mainly for music and videos, no problems at all.

Got my 32GB P3 in October 2009 and it still works pretty much as it did when purchased. The touchscreen wasn't perfectly responsive then but registers at all locations and still does today. Cosmetically, the device is in perfect condition.

Bought mine 5th October 2009. 2/3 of the touchscreen is dead, meaning only one column actually works, which is the left hand side of my screen. The only useful feature I can access now is videos... my 'music' died a week ago
I am now stuck listening to the same song on repeat...I watch videos everyday so I hope the remaining part of the screen doesn't die.. I'm actually really disappointed with the P3, so many dead screens and now I'll have to replace it soon :/ I even had a leather case! And it still died

I hope the song that's in loop is not Lady Gaga
![]() Anyway once I find someone to buy my P3 I will sell it to get a J3 instead before the screen die |

Hello, Strontium Wizzard, around the 23rd May 2009, and the screen's backlight's dead, but otherwise it works fine. Ironically, it died the day I was having a party on the 27th of May 2010, and just before it was fine. But god, I swear that they're made to die a few days after the guarantee goes.

Hey. Got mine 1st October 2009, screen has broken once but it was fixed like a month ago - since then it has got a dead spot. I might send it back since the repairs give it a 3 month warranty.
