Memory Gone!? Help!

Hello All,

I can only load about a 1000tracks onton my Zen. I deleted everything from the player and it says free space 8813MB.

'Total Space: 28565MB'
'Free Sapce: 8813MB'

Not sure if this is related to a year or so ago when the player crashed and everything got wiped!

Anyone know how I can get my full memory back??! 8Gb is not enough!! Or is it time to saygoodbye to my trusty companion?!

have you tried booting into recovery mode?

the link will give you some instructions in how to do it and what to do once you're in recovery mode. I recommend:

1. Disk Cleanup

or if that fails:

2. Reformat Disk

mind you, even if the disk refuses to be formatted or cleaned, you can always replace it with a new hard drive, replace it with compact flash, or go by the route of using an SSD as your storage media, there are links here in the forums.

Thanks Mikkun, I reformatted and then thought it would be a good idea to upgrade the firware, but my computer didn't recognise my player and I got stuck in Recovery mode! I've tried using an older version of Windows (XP) and WMP 10, but no dice! One step forward, two steps back!

I think it might be time to upgrade!?

don't give up on your player, try to upgrade your firmware on another PC. or choose reload firmware on recovery mode...
