Just got a new cable and having problems

Hi, I lost my default cable for my sansa fuze, so I purchased a cheap one online that had 100+ 4-5 star reviews, and I plugged it in, and it charges but the computer doesn't list it as a connected device. Also, when it's charging it doesn't go to that screen that it goes when it says reading or writing. It just replaces the battery icon with a charging one. Does anyone have any ideas?

And yes, the fuze worked perfectly with the older cable.
