Based upon what I've seen with the Sony tablets, it will likely have a modified version of Gingerbread with lots of Sony-made apps forced on you.

That and a lack of any buttons makes it a pass. Sorry, Sony, but no thank you.

I just bought an Galaxy S2 Phone recently, still waiting to actually get it in my hands. It will be my first smartphone and i'm going to be interested to see how it performs from a mp3/pmp perspective (compared to dedicated mp3 players like J3/S9 and this etc). I think we'll see companies like cowon and archos going out of business unless they change their strategies and sales like this just fail due to steep price tags. I mean why bother paying premium price for summin like this, spend $100 more and get a phone/all-in-one device.

I think there will always be a market for sansa clips and nanos, small, cheapish, portable gym type wear players, but the j3's and s9's are surely gonna be obsolete soon, I mean my Samsung Galaxy S2 was practically free :S

It's gonna be capacity capped here in the USA (I've heard 8gb, might hit 16gb). I'll stay with my SGP 5.0, since 8gb + 32gb microSD expansion works for me. Plus, since I can COMPLETELY customize the SQ, install & remove whatever I want, and this thing has a 5" screen, I'm happier with this device than I have been in quite some time.

Sony is and ALWAYS will be late to the party and overpriced. SQ be damned, I got a winner with Sammy!!!

Ha! It would be a miracle if Sony pushed a more widespread format than their own proprietary ones!

They have a 64gb model for Japan, the EU might get it as well. No 64gb model for the USA/Canada. And, Sony doesn't do micro sd card slot for mp3 players,...Android or not.

I like the aesthetic design, but unless the U.S. (if they ever show up) versions are priced better (lower) or the same as Samsung's 4.0 and 5.0 with the same memory, this Z is off my "want that!" list.

cool its not as expensive as I thought but I already have a samsung galaxy player 4. This thing wins in processor power but in features the SGP wins in my book. The sony doesn't have a camera or gps which are both things I like to have and after having them for a while I cannot be without these features.

The SGP 5.0 murders this thing in terms of battery life lol 60 hours of music playback+ 10 hours of video playback VS only 20 hours for music and 5 for videos. If something is priced $200+ then it better have premium battery life too.
