Default Sony S615F test mode for EU volume cap
I am very happy with my latest purchase a Sony S615F which only cost me £10. The sound quality is beautiful as always from Sony but I feel the volume could be louder at the 25 to 30 volume level. I believe it was possible to remove the dreaded EU volume cap through the test mode. If this is possible how do I get into test mode? Please advise

If I'm remembering the right way to read Sony model numbering the 615 model number says this is DAP was first made a several years old. That would mean this was issued before the volume cap was put in place a couple of years ago. Any volume issues shouldn't have anything to do with the cap.

I did a factory restore and it looks like I got the French model of the Sony S615F because I did a factory restore and now all the menus are in French

@Skip252 Yeah, I thought that if this DAP was released in 2007 that it would of been free of the EU volume restricition as my S639F doesn't have the volume cap and it's loud. Strange that my S639F is a lot louder than my S615F.

Default Sony S615F test mode for French volume cap
I managed to find the test mode setting while googling for it. Unfortunately I have the French model and the SP Setting in the test mode is set to SPSET (ON) FR. So it looks like only France had the volume cap years ago on the Sony DAPs and my model is unfortunately French.
