The exciting and
somewhat controversial Smoked by Windows Phone challenge was originally scheduled to conclude two weeks ago, before Microsoft
extended the deadline and changed up the rules slightly. With the extra week behind us, the Redmond software giant has announced that it is extending the competition once again until April 12, 2012.
Once again, the rules are a little different. Rather than give winners a brand-new Hunger Games-branded Ultrabook, Microsoft Stores will be handing out $1,000 gift cards to the first ten participants who manage to best Windows Phone at a speed test. The first 250 participants who fail the challenge will receive a $25 gift card to the Microsoft Store.
Rather than dictate the challenge scenario, Microsoft Store employees will ask participants to randomly select a challenge card. This should, hopefully, satisfy those who claim that Microsoft would choose the challenge that gave Windows Phone the best chance at success.
Do you think your smartphone can best Windows Phone at one of these challenges?
