Considering the announcement of a new player may interest members at several levels please reference your sources, especially for quotes. The way it stand now no one has any idea the context of what Nankai is supposed to have said.

For one I cannot afford to hire a professional interpreter to produce a credible translation, for two I cannot afford to hire a notary to certify what I said in my post. Again, please take whatever I say with an adequate amount of your favorite salt. Or shall I put it coarsely, please believe what you want to believe.

In the end, I am only half-surprised by what he said, considering "the HM-801 sounds identical to the Meridian 588", claimed by Nankai not very long ago.

Nankai once threatened to assassinate a Chinese electronics developer because the latter cracked two HM-801 units open and claimed the HM-801 is built with some refurb/recycled/fake parts, namely the PCM1704U-K chips and the four power regulators found on the oldest amp module. This developer also questioned the use of an LM833 as LPF after the OPA627. No, I have no proof, since that developer deleted most of these threads due to ongoing litigation.

My assumption that your post is accurate. Nothing I've seen in any of your posts here would lead me to believe otherwise. My request to post references is to make sure anyone that sees this can read for themselves the entirety of any posts or articles. They can then base their posts or any judgements from what they can confirm for themselves.

Graphics are helpful but don't give the more complete information of a link. http://www.head-fi.org/t/605428/hm-8...t-meridian-588 . I don't usually find the need for a translator once I have a link. Google Chrome or Google Translate handles that for me.

The graphics would be helpful if the link is broken or changed so I do think they are a considerate addition. Thank you for that.

What a shameless story you were talking about. Jianming Mok is a true copy cat. In his website, he claimed that our player is junk, but he insisted that hifiman players sound best. In 2010 he claimed that he will copy HM-602 and promise to sell at 40% HM-602 retail price. At the same time he claimed that he was threaten to be murdered. I sued him in early 2011 in Tianjin, China. We are waiting for the decision from Judge right now.

We did several double-blind listening test in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in China. The test was about HM-801 line out vs. Meridian 508. Most testers can not hear the difference.
