Hello,
I currently have the 8GB Zen from my girlfriend at my hands which seemed to be dead at first. Further investigations narrowed the error down to the inner copper shield(?). ![]() Picture taken from abi Zen Teardown With the back of the player open and holding the player in the air it boots just fine with full functionality. But as soon as there is the slightest pressure on the copper (see the red marking) it will freeze and the screen turns black. After a reset it'll boot just fine again. I already tried putting a piece of anti-static film between the copper and the PCB but the problem was still there. As far as I can see it is the connection for the LCD. Any idea what I could do and if desoldering the copper would be any help? Sincerely, Henne |
