Music player, stop, next buttons not responding

Hi folks

I have installed Rockbox, but when I am playing music, with what I assume is the default player (are there others?), the current track will not stop, nor can I go to next as I can when using iRiver's original firmware, anyone else had such a problem.

That sounds unusual. You May have to ask at the rockbox forums. http://forums.rockbox.org/
The only thing I can think of is to try another rockbox build.
