This was a first for me as well,...I'll wait for a bit, erase all folders & stored (locally) data, then reinstall at a later time.

I initially started using Chrome because Firefox, after several years of great functionality, started acting weird. My secondary browser is Palemoon which seems to work fine. I have that designated to come up on my secondary monitor, and Chrome to come up on the primary.....easy as pie!

I'm using,...get ready for it,...Safari. It's slow, but better at doing what I want right now. It's temporary, and FF isn't my cup of tea.

Chrome and Safari both use the Webkit engine so they should be about the same under the hood. Only differences woud be UI stuff, but I haven't used Safari much.

+1 for Chrome.

I switched from IE to Firefox about six or seven years ago, then eventually got fed up with how long it took Firefox to load. I tried Chrome and couldn't quite get used to the minimalist interface, so went back to Firefox. Then I got even more fed up with Firefox and finally decided to switch to Chrome permanently. I still use Firefox occasionally, and if you keep the extensions to a minimum the latest versions load much faster.

If you like Chrome's startup page, a truly GREAT extension is Speed Dial 2. Another essential one (unless you like ads) is Adblock Plus.

Well, it all went downhill for me when chrome started to get as slow as mole-asses. Then the glitches began. I have no issue with Safari. But, it's only temporary.

I'm assuming you've tried clearing your history and other temporary files? Chrome has never slowed down for me, while Firefox used to get slow a lot.

But if you like Safari better than you should use that.

Lol!!! Kid, I'm the tech nerd for almost all the people I know. I've done these things, and quite a bit more. It just might be a compatibility issue with my comp. I'll find out soon enough,...when I get the time to putz around with my comp. I'm lucky enough to even get near it. I'm about to go back to playing with my Ubuntu lappy instead.

Those are generally the things I avoid installing. Why fix what isn't broken?

I love Chrome, having an SSD these days even the few seconds FF takes longer to load seems like an eternity :P On my work laptop this delay is extended to ridiculousness compared to Chrome. The latest IE is actually quite good, and I'm glad for that because there are some work related things that I can't do with any other browser so its definitely stepped up to 2nd place on my browser choice list.

If nothing was broken there would be no updates. Something is broken or outdated, but you might not know.

Well Chrome's updates are automatic so I just leave it at that. If I ever do run into a problem I can find an older version online and disable automatic updates, but that's never happened .

Another Chrome user here, automatic silent updates + minimalist interface are pluses in my book.
