Should the battery be discharging like this?

Honestly I think (emphasis on think) the battery on my SGP 4.2 is fine. I left it in the sleep mode while I went to sleep for about 10-12 hours, only went down from 95% battery to 92%.

However when I'm just using it lightly, such as organizing the apps I want on my home screens (since I just got it yesterday) the battery drains amazingly fast. About 1% every few minutes.

Wifi is off, gps is off, screen brightness I have it down to about 30% (that's what it looks like anyway), it's in flight mode (not sure if that's good or not honestly). I just wanna know if this is normal or not. Thought it might have been Go Launcher EX at first, so I uninstalled that, but no real change in discharge speed. Don't have animated wallpaper or anything like that. So I have no idea if anything is wrong or not. Could it just be because it's new?

Oh and one more thing the battery hasn't charged to 100%, even after I tried to charge it for about 10 or so hours, and that's plugged into an outlet.
