It isn't under $100 though. I guess I could carry two Clip+ players at a time to have two card slots.

I get by just fine without two card slots. I suppose technically I do carry two with me (my phone and my Clip Zip) but it's not like they have different files on them. In fact, my phone has the 32GB card and my Zip has the 16GB card...lol.

If the price I'm getting from that link when it's translated is right you could carry a LOT of Clips. What I'm seeing is speculation that it's going to be either $499 or €499(~$650). It's early and that's a translation so that figure could be wrong.

I like the idea of large storage but that's just a bit above my current budget for a DAP. I'll probably take a pass on this one.

Who knows maybe price would be better if it hits the US, the competition against the fruit alone could also influence better pricing

I don't think it's likely the price will come to anything remotely reasonable. There a lot of oohing and aahing about it being 192/24 capable. The folks that have bought into using that type file seem to be willing to pay a premium for anything that's capable of playing them without down sampling.

It would be great if it is $499 HK, which equals $65 US. Somehow I doubt it will be though.

You mean the treble rolloff issue?

Well, I remember one having a bass issue, and I guess I forgot about the treble issue. Maybe they should have just gone with a nice cirrus logic chip - one that has neither issue.

Oh, wait, then the wolfson fanboi posse wouldn't bite,...riiiiiittttteee.

I am only surprised by the battery life, which seems short imo for a brick

Yeah, I did see that. The battery life is "meh". But it's comparable to the clip+ & clipzip w/lossless, so it's doable.

That is crazy. The usefulness of having a second card slot is only fully achieved with long battery life. I was thinking that with the second card slot they would also give it 110 hours of battery life like the Cowon X9.

This is not the way of the audiophilefool they only care about larger file sizes and 192/24 playback

Lossless, who's doing lossless??? Besides, I hope it just manages to get iriver off their asses and back into the game. And tbh I don't really think I'd get this, I'm enjoying chatting it up. Especially since you won't get any increase in audio performance, and the pricing is way over budget for me. Around $200 I'd bite though, just for the fun of it.

I'm totally bored with the player market, and no iPod, Samsung, Cowon, Sony, or Sansa will do to help get the thrill back. I'm praying for a new dap goodness toy!!! These guys are stagnant,...we need SOMETHING to bring the joy back.
