Default Galaxy Player 4.2 and USB audio.

I was in my friends new car and he doesn't have a 3.5 Aux input only a usb port. Hooked up my player and his car wouldn't even see it.

My question, is it even possible to use the USB as an audio out the same way the 3.5 jack would?

no, but you might be able to set it so that the car stereo sees the storage like a USB flash drive, but that depends on the radio I think.

I don't have a Galaxy Player but I do have a Galaxy S III phone (for about 24 hours now). When connected to my PC, it appears as an MTP device (ie no drive addresses). Perhaps the car radio USB only detects MSC devices (ie those that connect to PC with drive addresses).

Second comment....I believe that the Galaxy Player can accept a microSD card. Do you have music on the internal memory or just on the micro card? I ask because I believe that previous threads here on ABi have come to the conclusion that car players only see the internal memory.

I don't have the car here to tinker with anymore. When I plugged it in, the player did ask me if I wanted to connect as a mass usb storage device so I might try that next time.

Also, the car has bluetooth, so either way I should be able to stream, right?

Connect with bluetooth and if the car supports A2DP then you can stream audio over bluetooth, if you USB it, then connect it as mass strorage, I'll try it that way with my 4.0 and the USB input on my car stereo when I get home.
