Then again, the E11 has much more power, and its selectable bass boost doesn't muffle everything else when used. I got mine with an extra battery and external charger at no extra cost, and it's more often than not the one I grab(since I mostly amp at home with the big headphones).

The E6 does well with my 150 ohm headphones, but seems underpowered with my 300 ohm headphones. |

I'm not surprised that the E6 may be troubled by 300 ohm 'phones. Are you using it with the volume of your Sansa maxed out, and then controlling volume with the E6? If not, try it that way....

Well, if they sound anywhere near as good as the Riptidz IEM's I think you might have gotten a good deal.

well I may have to return the riptidz when they get here I just realized how short the cord actually is and I was expecting full size headphones to have at least 2 m of cord I now know they will not reach from my headphone jack on the computer. Either that or buy a headphone extender but this realization really stinks I wish I had looked earlier about cord length because now I'm regretting the purchase. I know first hand that cord extenders reduce sound quality.
I really hope these will have a longer than 1.2 m cord God I am so paranoid now returns are such a pain Last edited by mikee; 01-02-2013 at 11:56 PM. |

ok me being paranoid i guess I have the headphone port on the front of my computer tower but the tower is on the the floor. I actually think I may be ok now I am testing my jvc air cushions aparently they also have a 1.2 m long cord and it seems to be ok.
The thing that really freaked me out was that my sonys that are broken have about 10 feet and i tried my other sonys which are earbuds with a 1 ft 8 inch cord which is so tiny but for some reason in my mind I thought of 1m 8 inches and thought since those ones didn't even come close to reaching edit: Might still want to get a small extender maybe only a couple of feet. The one I had experience with was about 50 feet. Any advice on these extenders what to look for what to avoid? |

I could understand a 50 foot cord causing some degradation, sure...I have a couple in the 6-foot range, I think, and they work fine.

I have extensions from around 9 inches to 25 ft. Add that to a headphone cable that's already 10 ft and I'm frequently 35 ft (at least!) from the source and have never noticed a drop in sound quality.
You shouldn't have to spend much or look for anything more than it being properly built. I got my long one from Monoprice. It's this one http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2. I've been using it for about 3 years with no problems.

I'm going to go to walmart and look for one there since my air cushions are 1.2m and they seem to be barely long enough but occasionally the cord will get pulled and over time I could see that being a failure at some point
also doesn't the guage thickness of the wire matter too with regard to sound quality? Last edited by mikee; 01-03-2013 at 01:32 AM. |

gauge can, but for a short extension it isn't a big deal. any cable suffers signal loss at greater lengths but short runs are fine. monoprice is fantastic source. i have been ordering all of my cables from them for years.

I bought a 6 ft long extension at walmart made by belkin for ipod it seems to work well with the air cushions with the same length of cord 1.2m as the riptids I should be getting tomorrow. I'm trying to figure out if the sound changes with the extension vs not having the extension I think it is the same.
Will post back tomorrow and see how this will work with the new headphones Last edited by mikee; 01-03-2013 at 04:41 PM. |

just got the headphones todat turns out the plug is a L shaped plug and it ends up giving me enough room to actually reach my headphone jack. They fit nice and snug and are quite loud which is good. The only downside I can see so far is the cord seems thin and flimsy and may break in the future knowing my luck. I may write a review later next week after using them for a while

they did only cost $16-20. inherently there will be tradeoffs. looking forward to the review
