Do any games actually work good with the controls? Are there games built specifically for this phone? This might be where new portable gaming goes for me as the new PS Vita doesn't seem to be catching on very well.

XDA has compiled a list of games that will play on the Xperia Play. Now I don't know if those games are simply Android games that can play on the Play or are they games optimized for the Play controller. When the Play was released, there were games ported over from the PSP. I don't which games are those though and whether they stop.

Ok, I believe most of those are Android games. And here's the best part,...there's controller ad-ons that allow excellent gameplay nowadays. I've seen them in toys-r-us,...and they show them on Engadget all the time.

I'd order this IF it weren't locked to Verizon. I ain't going back to Verizon,...the Moto Droid Razr Maxx couldn't make me do it,...this sure as fudge won't!!!

Now, when the Motorola X Phone comes,...I'm grabbing it because it's coming out on all carriers. AT&T it is,...

Well around here AT&T sucks and Verizon works great. That being said I still don't want to go back to Verizon. I've been using Straight Talk and am about to switch back to a dumb phone and use TracFone. But after seeing how Android is catching on this a great option for me to get for my younger siblings. Right now they are in the middle of destroying a few of my PSP's. But like I said, I don't really have any interest in the Vita, I think Android would be a better option for them.

You can simply use the Xperia Play as a media player/PSP device only.

This is what I'm thinking, I just was curious of the support of the control of the device. I'm pretty optimistic about it actually.

I think this app may be the answer. There should also be other ways to configure the keyboard since there are many controllers available now like TDS said.
