Default Problems With WMP11

Maybe I'm just working too much but.....I've been using wmp11 to sync to both my zvm and zsp. Has been working flawlessly but now when I add downloaded albums to the My Music file, they no longer get added to the library in wmp. Even if I try to manually add them, it's like they're no being recognized. Ripped cds still appear in the library, but downloads do not. I know there are other tag editors out there, but I like wmp's all in one features. Any help? I have not made any changes to the settings and all was fine after the November update. Please help, I just spent 20 minutes manually retagging 1 album. Thanks.

Scott

Hmm, try making sure that WMP11 is "watching" or "monitoring" your My Music folder.

I find that does not really do it - it seems to monitor on a random basis.

The way I do it is drag and drop the files into WMP 11 while looking at the album view - this seems to work.

if you open up the files it should add them into the WMP11 library..
you could also do a scan that will.. well scan all the folders that it should be monitoring..

WMP11 will get to adding the new files to the library - eventually. The larger your library already is, the longer it will take for the automatic pickup; however, you can force the issue by doing what the others here have suggested.

Ok I've just figured it all out. The albums I downloaded had no tag info at all. I then got a tag editor, used it and presto-change-o, they've been added. So, WMP11 will not add anything to the library without id3 tag info. Thought I'd pass it along. Thanks for the help.
