Default Problem with video playback

ok so i am trying to put some southpark episodes on my zen. i have tried ripping the episodes in divx but the quality was terrible so i tried mpeg2. the quality is fine but now i get these wierd bars when it switches frames sometimes. its hard to explain but i think it might be tearing. idk. i have tried all frame rates setting that are on my dvd ripper(#1 dvd ripper) and idk what is wrong. thx for any help

the default for mpeg2 is 2376 K bit which is what i used.

Try autoGK and use Xvid as the encoder and hit CNTRL+F9 to bring up more advance options, as I remembered, there are some options that are tunned towards cartoons. Good luck. I have been using autoGK for at least 15 of the movies that I have now and everything turned out perfect. No complaints. However, I have yet to transcode any "cartoons" like movies so I do now know that it will help you or not.

thank you. this helped a lot.....good quality and no more wierd bars.
