The introduction of two new digital audio players from Grundig, the 1GB MPixx 2001 FM and 2GB MPixx 2002 FM, appears to be an indication that the company wants a more serious role in the low-capacity market.
As well as an extensive set of features, the MPixx carries a price to match. Both models have a 21-hour battery life for audio and come with a 1.8-inch TFT LCD with 65,000 colors; FM radio with 20-station memory; stereo sound and recording capabilities; voice recorder; support for MP3, WMA (DRM), WAV, and SMV audio formats; support for MPEG with transcoding software for WMV, Real Player, Quick Time, DVD, and MP4 video formats; and a picture viewer for JPEG and BMP files. All of this is available in 1GB for 79€ and 2GB for 89€.
