Here we have NHC’s new Muvia ADY-30512 PMP, which goes beyond the capabilites of similar devices from Asia by offering direct line-in recording from a TV, CD/DVD player, VCR, and other AV equipment. The 512MB internal memory won’t provide much to watch on the 2.5-inch TFT display (260K colors, 320 x 240, 30 fps), but the built-in SD/MMC expansion slot makes that a minor issue. The Muvia is UMS compliant over a USB 1.1 connection, though, so you should load up those SD/MMC cards through a memory card reader.
In addition to playing back whatever is recorded onto it, the PMP also supports MPG, AVI, MOV, ASF, DivX, and WMV video files; MP3, WMA, and WAV (ADPCM) audio files, and JPG, BMP, TIFF, and GIF image files.
Those in Japan can expect the Muvia ADY-30512 to drop on August 24 with a not-so-modest price tag of about $250.
